BOB SKEAT

Bob SkeatClick on picture to enlarge. Bob Skeat, age 42, is a new member to the Wishbone Ash band replacing Tony Kishman. Bob's early influence started at home where his father (Bill) played professionally since the early 60's. Starting out on piano at age 5, Bob realized it was not the instrument of his choice. Being influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin and T-Rex. And, after hearing the song "Burlesque" by the band called Family Bob knew the bass guitar was for him. Bob's Uncle Len gave him his first bass. Len is also a professional jazz bass player. So by age 16 Bob was playing in bands and later went on to college and at age 21 he was playing professionally. Over the last 21 years Bob has played with Colin Blunstone, Princess Stephanie, Gilbert O'Sullivan, and Tony Willcox. Session work, TV advertisements, and radio jingles have kept Bob going. Andy first had the pleasure of meeting Bob and listening to his bass lines during the recording of the "Trance Visionary" CD. After appearing on the "Trance Visionary" CD, Andy asked Bob to join the band. Overcoming the hurdle of band member changes, Bob has had a fun time filling the bass position and in return, is gaining the respect of the Wishbone fans from city to city. Bob does the harmony vocals and also harmony bass, which is a different approach than typical bass lines. That is a tough job but Bob did it!
